Samuel Adams New England IPA
Style: American IPA
Even though summer is drawing to a close it has still been pretty hot here. Rule of thumb for beer drinking in the summer is to avoid porters and stouts. They tend to be heavier and not as refreshing if you’re outside at a barbecue or after having shown your lawn and landscape who’s boss.
I would recommend if you’re looking for something refreshing and crisp like a lemonade for your summer drinking pleasure the Sam Adams New England IPA. There is one draw back to this beer for me personally, but it has nothing to do with flavor or taste.
This beer comes in pint size cans (yay!), but in packs of four (boo!). So if you’re looking to throw a party with nothing, but this beer you may want to find another option. If you’re going to a friends summer bonfire and it’s B.Y.O.B then this may do for you.
With it’s abv being more in the medium range you probably won’t need more than the four cans if you want to have a good time. Picking up more than one is an idea though price wise you might be better off with something in a 12 or 15 pack.
Flavor wise it has a lite and citrusy taste with very little bitterness from the hops. I could sit out on my porch with a cigar and those chillin in a cooler and have a blast just drinking them and watching the world go by.
